Team members from Weichert Realtors® - Sally Awad Group, a real estate brokerage in Charlotte, spent a recent afternoon at the Classroom Central store helping local teachers gather supplies for their students and classrooms.
Classroom Central helps provide free resources for students and teachers in North Carolina and South Carolina. The organization started its journey by serving students and teachers in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Since opening its doors in 2002, it has expanded into six school districts, serving over 127,000 students in 227 schools.
“I’m so proud of our team for taking the initiative to volunteer at Classroom Central and help our local teachers and students get the supplies they need,” said Sally Awad, Owner of Weichert Realtors® - Sally Awad Group.
Classroom Central is about more than just basic school supplies. When a teacher “shops” at their Free Store or Mobile Free Store, they are eligible to receive $1,200+ worth of free materials that include essential school supplies, cleaning supplies, personal care items, STEM and literacy materials, lesson plans, books, and much more.
